Lipglossary - Colour codes for Lip Gloss
October 4, 2025
When building Chartea I was looking for a reference of the colours in Lip Gloss. I couldn’t find anything handy, so I built a previewer.
Lipglossary simply iterates through each of the ANSI-16 and ANSI-256 colour codes within Lip Gloss, and draws them in your terminal emulator. This is how they look in mine (Ghostty, default color scheme):
ANSI-16:

ANSI-256:

Update 2025-11-19:
Decided to try the new Google Antigravity IDE with Gemini 3 and made instructed the following changes:
- Made the tabs look more like tabs
- Changed the ANSI-256 grid to a list view with the same line height as the ANSI-16 view
- Added more vim motions:
handlto switch between tabsjandkto scroll line by linectrl+dandctrl+uto page down and up
- Added filtering to the colour list, where only colors where the RGB components of the colours are above a given threshold:
randRincreases and decreases the red thresholdgandGincreases and decreases the green thresholdbandBincreases and decreases the blue threshold
